This North Vancouver engagement photography session was too cute! In every image, you can see just how much these two adore each other. Their smiles go on forever.
I was so excited when Charmaine reached out to me on Facebook. Other than in photos, we hadn’t seen each other since growing up together in Singapore. We were friends in elementary school from Grade 4 to 6. When my family moved to Canada, we stayed in touch through social media.
A few years later, Charmaine moved to Canada to go to university. She was totally captivated by life in Vancouver – and never looked back. Now, she is engaged and getting married this weekend. Eep! Stay tuned for this couple’s New Westminster wedding photography.
For Charmaine and Ken’s engagement session, we met at one of my fave restaurants. Amelia’s in New Westminster has amazing breakfast, and it’s a great place for conversation. My goal, as usual, was to get to know them before their wedding day.
Immediately, Ken shared that he’s from Singapore, too! Wow, I thought. It’s just so cool that they met and fell madly in love, right here in Canada — and then I became their wedding photographer. What were the odds that our paths would all cross half way around the globe? It really is a small world 🙂
I’m looking forward to shooting their small intimate Catholic ceremony. Many family members will travel from Singapore to see them married in their new hometown of New Westminster. It’s going to be wonderful.
We found out that Charmaine and Ken love hiking and camping, so we chose Quarry Rock for a little love & adventure. On my advice, this super cute couple added a few dressy pieces to their comfortable hiking style. Plus, it was so adorable that they had matching hiking boots!
Fall hiking can be unpredictable, but we placed a bet on the weather. It turned out to be an amazing day for a shoot. The sun peeking through the mist added a magical quality to the images that you just can’t get on a bluebird day.
We quickly hiked to the top, and slowly made our way back down – stopping often to capture the giggles.
