As a photographer and a creative I’m constantly trying to evolve and grow, and part of how you do that is to step outside of your bubble. One of my bubbles is that I had never photographed a same-sex wedding, and so I put it on my list of to-dos this summer.
I met and got to know Amii and Devon through our assistant/bride/friend Nicole at her wedding. Amii and Devon were also getting married shortly after Nicole and Adamm, so of course I asked if they had a photographer for their wedding day. Unfortunately for me they did have a photographer booked already, but I persisted! I asked if Amii and Devon would be interested in a post-wedding portrait session, and they loved the idea!
So we met up on Monday evening at the middle of June at Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver. They were such amazing and stunning models, and can’t thank them enough for giving me the opportunity to photograph them!
This was my first same-sex wedding portraits I’ve shot, but it was also my first post-wedding portrait session, and I have to say, that I love it! Post-wedding portrait sessions, or a Day-After Wedding sessions are such an amazing idea!
Sometimes couples want an epic romantic scenic location for their portraits, because of timeline & location constraints it’s not always possible.
